"So what's with the new outfit?" Kenny asked as we walked down the school hallways with the rest of our little group. He laced our fingers together loosely and I smiled at the little action, squeezing his hand momentarily.
"I just needed a change," I told him. "After that whole fiasco, I needed to do something to remind me that we're out of that mess."
"Technically, we're still in the middle of it," he said gloomily.
"True," I replied, "But I needed something small to make me feel somewhat better, and when Wendy and I went to the mall the other day, I just felt this was enough."

I gasped as I shot up from the bed, the blankets falling to my lap quickly. What was that!? I haven't had a single dream since we got here, but all of a sudden I dream up THAT!? The fuck?
I heard movement from my right as Trent sat up, swatting tiredly at his eye. "What's wrong?" he asked, his eyes half lidded as he propped himself on his left arm so he was leaning closer to me.
"Just a dream," I said, turning to look at him over my shoulder, "nothing to worry about. Sorry I woke you." He cocked a tired smile and kissed my bare shoulder before laying back down again, still facing me.
